Bird Cage Problems

I wrote a while back about a defective bird cage I bought. The damn thing had two welds come loose on it, and it is starting to look like the manufacturer is not going to do anything to help. So far, they have offered glue. I realize there are some strong glues out there, but I did not pay $400 so I could glue the cage together when its defective welds popped. I have had $65 bird cages with welds that didn't break. I see no reason why I should put up with this problem in a more expensive cage. Obviously, the manufacturer should pay for a quality repair or replace the cage.

That being said, and knowing lots of nerds frequent this site, I would like to ask if anyone knows a good way to weld a bird cage bar back into place. I don't trust glue. I don't know the first thing about welding, but we are talking about two wires about 3 millimeters thick, and it seems like there ought to be some cheap, strong way to weld or solder them together.
