Come get Your Used Calphalon, Cheap

My Chinese "Update International" pots and pans arrived today. Very exciting.

I got a 3-gallon stock pot, an 8-quart stock pot, two 2-quart saucepans, and two 3.5-quart saucepans.

Oh, I also got a 14" skillet.

Let me tell you something I just found out today. A 14" commercial skillet is a hell of a lot bigger than a 14" skillet you buy at Target. I have a 15" Lodge skillet which sits very comfortably inside the new one. I think 14" is the diameter of the bottom, because I'm pretty sure the 17" lid from my beer kettle will fit the skillet nicely.

I have no idea at all what I'll do with it, except bathing in it or possibly frying chicken. Cast iron works well for that, but a 15" Lodge skillet really isn't big enough. And it's a bitch to take care of.

All the new cookware is gorgeous. The site said to expect blemishes because it's commercial stuff, but they look perfect to me.

I'm glad I didn't talk myself into buying All-Clad. I really think it would have been a mistake.

I guess I'll give the old Calphalon crap to the maid.

I also bought a stainless-steel chicken injector. I was going to get a plastic one, but they cost half as much and last two months. Screw that.

I'm itching to cook something, but I'm on this stupid diet. Rats.

Anyway, life is glorious. You can be happy every day of your life, as long as you order enough crap off the Internet.
