Hey Grandpa! What's for Supper?

Gloom, Despair, and Agony for my Waistline

George Moneo just left, after checking out the Hoglodeck. We listened to Pacquito Rivera, Miles Davis, and Django Reinhardt. He seems to approve of the TV cabinet and the outdoor stereo.

We had a few snacks.

1. Cajun angels. I bought sea scallops and soaked them in Armagnac, pressed garlic, and habanero sauce. Then I wrapped them in bacon and blasted the whole mess with blackened redfish seasoning. I grilled them until they were done, and they were quite tasty.

2. Chicken wings. I injected them with a marinade made from cider vinegar, real maple syrup, Jack Daniel's, Matouk's Calypso Sauce, garlic, Stubbs's spicy BBQ sauce, instant coffee, and Liquid Smoke. Then I smoked them in the Hoginator. I found a pile of live oak branches by the side of the road, so I added them to the wood I used for smoke. Very nice.

3. Roasted corn on the cob. I wrapped it in foil with butter and salt, and I baked it until it burned a little. Absolutely wonderful. Like a caramel apple. On the cob.

4. Frozen Snickers bars. God help me, I can't leave them alone.

There was also a good deal of homebrew present.

I think the Hoglodeck is going to work out nicely. We'll have to try it when George has more time. I may invite my piano teacher. He's the only other person I know who gives a crap about good music. I don't know if I'll be able to get Val and Tommy to come. Surely free beer and food will convince them.

Okay, I have to go eat more Snickers bars. Enjoy your weekend.
