Impostor?

I got some feedback from my editor today, on the Nigerian book. I sent a manuscript, hoping he could find some things to cut. He says it's brilliant and refuses to touch it, and he asked me cut it instead. He's afraid he'll mess it up.

Is this guy for real? Who ever heard of an editor who wasn't salivating to hack up and destroy a work of humor? I can't believe it. It has to be a practical joke.

Guess I better do some slashing this week. It will be hard to decide what to take out. Captain Bob Talbert, the Giant Midget? No way. The guy who types with Tourette's and inserts things like "RECTAL! RECTAL!" in his emails at random intervals? Perish the thought. This is not going to be easy.

I never thought I'd have an editor who wasn't a total asshead, but I stand corrected. I'm surprised he hasn't been lynched.
